Although West Indian Manatees are very slow, they are the most interesting sea creatures of all. Manatees move 3-5 miles per hour and can stay under water for 20 minutes. They are one of the largest mammals in the sea. Manatees are also called “sea cows” and are related to elephants. Western Indian Manatees are herbivores who spend about eight hours a day eating plants. They occasionally eat lettuce and love eating seaweed.Western Indian Manatees like to hide in KELP BEDS.Western Indian manatees enjoy coastal rocks. They also enjoy giant green anemone, kelp forest, and sea fan as there favorite Plant. Western Indian manatees also enjoy nibbling on carrots like the one bellow.
