Emperor Penguins have to travel up to 70 miles each year to find their mating location. Once they have used their instincts to find their way. They sing their song and who ever likes their song will be with them. After the mother producess her single egg she carrfully transfers it to the male penguin. This is a verry fast process, for one second on the ice can freeze the egg. From producing the egg the mother lost 1/3 of her body fat and goes out to sea to ceach fish to eat. But she is not the only one there. Sea lions are just waiting to eat a penguin that comes into the water. Most of the penguins survive through this. But those that are eaten their baby is also dead, for she can not provide it food and the father would get verry hungry and would have no choice, but to abandone the baby penguin. If the mother comes back and finds that her baby had died durring the harsh winters, she will attempt to take a baby penguin from another penguin. But that penguin's mother will not allow it. The penguin circle of life is verry hard for every penguin to live through.
